Assistant Office Manager
The Organisation:
Pacific Adventist University (PAU) is owned and operated by the South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The institution is accredited to the Adventist Accreditation Association, an international denominational authority for all tertiary and graduate educational programs and institutions owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church entities. The main campus is located on the pristine Koiari Park, 14 miles outside Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The institution was established in 1984. Since then, it has grown from a college of 20 students to a university of over 1000 students from across the Pacific.
The Role:
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, approachable, proactive, and able to work effectively in a team environment. The Assistant Office Manager supports the smooth day‑to‑day administration of the school office by coordinating administrative operations, supporting academic and administrative staff, maintaining records, and ensuring efficient and professional service delivery in a Christian working environment.
Qualifications:
- A recognised qualification in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field (certificate, diploma or degree).
- Proven experience (minimum of 3 year) in any similar roles, preferably administrative and office management
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong office management capability with knowledge of administrative systems and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related workplace software.
- Professional, discreet, and able to work effectively in a cross‑cultural, team‑oriented environment with sound judgement and initiative.
- An understanding of ethical and service‑oriented values in the workplace and a willingness to uphold the Vision, Mission and Values of Pacific Adventist University.
