Position: Auto Mechanic

Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Job Type: Full-Time Role

Overview: TE(PNG) is currently looking for a qualified Auto Mechanic who can perform basic care and maintenance on its company fleets. The candidate must have sound knowledge and is able to identify automotive problems and suggest solutions for repair and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts repairs and maintenance checks for maximum reliability.
• Explain mechanical problems and provide possible solutions.
• Ensuring all critical parts of a vehicle are checked and tested.
• Repairing or replacing worn, old or defective parts of a vehicle.
• Trouble shoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Must be up to date with the current trend of vehicle maintenance issues.
• Working to diagnose and repair the mechanical and electrical components of our fleet.
• Completing preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as performing oil changes, flushing and replacing fluids, and replacing brakes.
• Generating timelines and estimates for repairs with the workshop team.
• Performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Engaging in learning opportunities to update job knowledge and auto mechanical skills.

Preferred Skills/Requirements:

• Qualified Auto Mechanic with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
• Must possess strong Mechanical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions and directions.
• Excellent active listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication skills and attention to details to interact internally with the team.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in the team environment.
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of duties.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Must have a valid class six (6) license.
• Must be in Good Health.
