Construction Manager, Light Commercials - Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Construction Manager specializing in Light Commercials to join our team in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of light commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, aligning with PSG's commitment to long warranty terms.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control procedures and ensure adherence to all relevant building codes and safety regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management.
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with PSG's safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Construction Management with a strong focus on light commercial projects.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in construction is essential. You must understand the practicalities and intricacies of building from the ground up.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • A strong commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Experience working in diverse cultural environments, preferably within the Pacific region, would be highly regarded.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field are highly desirable.
