ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Construction Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all the activities on the construction site. The Construction Site Engineer ensures that projects are completed on time, with a budget, and our client’s specifications. This includes planning, coordinating, and supervising onsite functions, staffing, scheduling, and material control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execution of site work—Directing, executing, consulting, monitoring, quality controlling, and punch listing (rectifications) of relevant Civil Engineering construction works including earthwork, drainage work, road construction, and building construction (concrete and steel) along with incidental construction (curb laying, paving Interlocking concrete blocks, etc.).
  • Workplace Communications- Methods applicable to target groups, providing specific information to workers about their safety and developing team performances, commitment, and corporation.
  • Technical supervision during construction - Assess performances according to approved plans and drawings and consult the manager/professionals for any predicted problems and changes in the ongoing construction.
  • Supervise construction projects to ensure they are completed in line with the scope, time, budget, and set quality standards.
  • Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Inspect project sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
  • Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors
  • Communicating with clients’ suppliers, and laborers effectively
  • Prepare and submit progress reports.
  • Ensuring the quality of materials and workmanship meet specified standards and codes.
  • Manage the procurement of materials, machinery, tools and equipment necessary for the project.
  • Resolving conflicts or miscommunication that may happen onsite quickly and amicably.

Education and Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, OSHA guidelines, and project management principles
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and management skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in Math and strong problem-solving skills
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Current state licensure for contacting or similar, if required
  • Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to spot potential risks or issues before they arise.
