An Escort Emergency Response Driver is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation of emergency response personnel, equipment, or sensitive materials to designated locations. This includes escort driving, attending to emergencies, ensuring the safe transport of company staff, and supporting emergency services during critical incidents. The driver must know all possible routes within the city, plan routes ahead, monitor threats, and respond to emergencies while maintaining vehicle readiness, safety, and coordination with security personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate emergency response vehicles, including escorting priority vehicles such as security or law enforcement units.
  • Respond promptly to dispatched emergency calls or assignments.
  • Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, stocked, and ready for immediate use.
  • Assist in navigating routes, avoiding obstacles, and ensuring timely execution during escorts and emergency runs.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch centers, emergency teams, and other relevant personnel.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure the safety of all parties involved.
  • Keep detailed records of trips, vehicle maintenance, and incident reports as required.
  • Provide support during emergencies, including crowd control or logistical assistance.
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle operated. Preferably a PNG Class 6 license.
  • Clean driving record with a history of safe driving.
  • Prior experience in fleet or security operations in the transport division.
  • Emergency response driving experience or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of local routes, traffic patterns, and emergency protocols.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the role.
  • May work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to stressful and emergency situations
  • Operates vehicles in various weather conditions and environments.
