Gateway Supervisor - Port Moresby

We are currently looking for persons of experience and exposure to the logistics industry with in-depth knowledge of airfreight cargo and warehousing procedures coupled with the ability to provide high customer service delivery pertaining to operational activities to consistently meet service standards and performance within budget parameters.

Responsibilities will include:

• Provide high quality services and maintain performance on all level of operation activities in order to meet customers’ needs.
• Co-ordinate with other Service Center Supervisors in other Service Centres/ Branches on all matters in relation to the operations especially in meeting the cut-off times and transportation arrangement to catch delivery cycle and flight departure.
• Ensure the manning level is adequate and performance of all activities are meet service standards.
• Prompt responses to any customer inquiries and ensuring all issues and problems are well addressed and solved.
• Support business acquisition process and provide operational support in order to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Monitor operations to ensure service procedures and performance standards are met and have been implemented.
• Maintain the security of the facility and operating systems within DHL Network Security Policy.
• Enforce the shipment security measures and controls.

Candidates' requirements for the role include:

• Minimum Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Minimum of five years’ supervisory work experience in the aviation, logistics or similar industry
• Highly developed customer service skills
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Proficient with the use of computers and other relevant technology
• Demonstrated ability to lead self and team members in a high energy environment
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
• Valid Identification Card (NID/ Birth Certificate/ Passport/ Driver’s License)
• Current class 6 driver’s license
• Current police clearance certificate
