The General Accountant I is a foundational role within our account and finance department, offering support in managing accounting activities with precision and professionalism. This position is ideal for individuals who are early in their accounting careers or those seeking to develop essential accounting skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Transaction Assistance: Assist with daily accounting operations, including processing transactions in accounts receivable and payable.
Record Maintenance: Help maintain records for general ledger, fixed assets, and inventory to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
Support Financial Reporting: Aid in preparing financial statements and reports under the guidance of senior accountants.
Reconciliation Support: Assist with monthly bank reconciliation processes.
Payment Processing Support: Help manage and process payment vouchers and maintain accounts under supervision.
Regulatory Compliance: Assist with the preparation and filing of tax documents, learning to ensure compliance with regulations.
Collaborative Learning: Participate in internal audits and support senior accountants in gathering and reporting financial data.
Job Requirements
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Professional Experience: Up to two years of accounting experience preferred, but not required.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with basic accounting software and MS Office.
Analytical Skills: Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team and learn from others.
Professional Certification: CPA certification preferred or equivalent knowledge and experience.
