We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Grocery Buyer to join our Merchandise team. This role supports the Category Manager in managing product selection, monitoring stock levels, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with vendors. You will ensure our grocery items are always available, maintain accurate records, and work closely with both suppliers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Review inventory regularly and place orders when needed
• Maintain accurate purchase order, shipment, and goods received records
• Follow up on payments, shipments, and order statuses
• Help achieve a 95% in-stock rate for key products
• Work with Import and Logistics teams to resolve shipment delays
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Provide shipment and backorder updates to Sales and Operations teams
• Set up new products in the system with complete and accurate details
• Monitor product margins and flag low-performing products
• Analyze monthly category performance and suggest strategies to boost sales

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Diploma in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
• Proven experience in buying or procurement, ideally in FMCG
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Pronto is a plus)
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
• Good communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
