The Baptist Union of Papua New Guinea (BUPNG) have immediate vacancies for the following positions. We are seeking experienced, ambitious and professional individuals to join our organisation based in Mt Hagen Western Highlands Province.

Health Information/ IT Officer

Purpose of the role

The Health Information /IT Officer is responsible to provide support to the Health Manager in the collection and analysis of statistical data to determine trends in the health status of the District, Province & Nation. Prepares tables and analytical reports from the data collected and also manage our Information Technology at the BUPNG Head Office

Role Responsibilities:

• Collects and analyses statistical data on trends in nation’s health status.
• Prepares tables and analytical reports from statistical heath data.
• Ensures the dissemination of Annual Statistical Reports and other publication or data sets.
• Develops and administers questionnaires and other data collection instruments.
• Examines correlations and associations between socio demographic characteristics and health status indicators and assesses the factors that affect health status of the population.
• Engages in field work for health needs assessment.
• Ensure full communication with between BUPNG Health and Tinsley Hospital on any IT Matters or data collection

• Manage and oversee the organization’s information systems and databases

Requirements for the role:

• Must have Diploma or Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science from a recognized tertiary institution or Health Information Management
• A minimum of 2-3 work experience in a similar work environment and work under minimum supervision
• Proficient use of computer programs MS office applications, Data Base, email and internet
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Able to meet deadlines with good sober work ethics
• Strong knowledge of database systems and information management techniques

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
• Must have a Valid NID Card /Birth Certificate from the PNG Registry Office
