Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and a specialized HR professional to join us as the HR Assistant Manager for Globe based in Madang. The HR Assistant Manager will perform a wide range of HR functions and duties including policies and procedures, systems and best practices in all aspects of the employee lifecycle i.e. Recruitment & Selection, Compensation & Benefits, Trainig & Development, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Employee grievance management, Payroll, Health & Safety, Industrial Relations, maintain vital employee records and ensure the smooth operation of the HR department.

Key Main Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Recruitment from start to end. Perform a full range of recruiting responsibilities for wide diversity of positions including: reviewing current headcount & man power audit, review vacant roles, draft/review of job descriptions, source & screening of candidates, interview & consultation with hiring managers, reference checks including all pre - onboarding clearances, benefit negotiations and raising PRFs.
  • Draft contracts and offer letters using current templates
  • Employee set up on company systems, on boarding, orientation and induction with Managers
  • Proactively address disciplinary and employee grievance raised by Management in compliance with company policy & procedures and Labour Law.
  • Draft all disciplinary letters including suspension and termination for vetting and approval
  • Attend to all employee issues and resolve with consultation of Managers to obtain a win -win outcome
  • Ensure new starter and leaver processes is accurately completed on all systems, all stakeholders are notified and documents filed accordingly including updating payroll and personal files
  • Administer all forms in relations to new starters and exits
  • Attend to all administration duties including drafting different job letters.
  • Complete and maintain company/business org chart in consultation with managers, payroll and HR Manager on fortnightly/monthly basis
  • Head count reports and maintain Employee Data Base and update on fortnightly/monthly basis
  • Update on KPI’s and Job Descriptions
  • Respond to all internal and external HR queries
  • Update and maintain employee personal files
  • Assist with Payroll - NASFUND, tax, leave, OT, final payment issues
  • Develop and maintain good working relationship at all levels within the organization and externally with NASFUND, DLIR & IRC, EFPNG, NATTB, ICA, Medical Insurer.
  • Meet with Manager on monthly basis (face to face or zoom/Skype) meetings to update and share information
  • Conduct information session and awareness to the general Globe staff and their managers
  • Coach and guid managers and employees on the disciplinary process,
  • Assist and Support WR Carpenter (PNG) Ltd group of companies
  • Maintain and manage employees’ personal files both hard copies and electronically
  • Review all forms, leave forms, OT, PRF, Change benefit forms to make sure forms are correctly filled and that correct amounts are awarded
  • Review all benefit claims forms, rental invoices, school fees, air fares, bonus/commission before payment is processed
  • Prepare and present HR reports on recruitment, payroll, headcount, leave etc and as and when required
  • Attend all and any HR/payroll employee issues

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related (essential)
  • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a corporate environment.
  • A sound knowledge of PNG employment related laws. Exposure to Labor Law, General Orders and employment equity regulations, IRC Tax laws on employee benefits
  • Exposure to payroll practices.
  • Effective HR, administrations and people management skills
  • Full understanding of HR Function and best practices
  • Full understanding how to execute all benefits including salary sacrifice, medical insurance
