Join PNG Motors as a Marine Outboard Mechanic (Lae) – Keep PNG’s Boats Moving!

Are you a skilled outboard technician who knows your way around a 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine? PNG Motors is looking for a Marine Outboard Mechanic to join our Lae team. From fishing boats to work vessels, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing Suzuki Marine outboards and other marine engines. If you love being around boats, working with your hands, and delivering reliable results — we want you on board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine servicing and mechanical repairs on Suzuki Marine outboards and other small marine engines.

• Troubleshoot engine performance issues and electrical faults.

• Conduct engine installs, upgrades, and repowers on customer boats.

• Maintain accurate service records and ensure all job cards are completed.

• Keep the workshop and tools clean, organised, and safe.

• Work with customers and sales staff to explain work completed and advise on future maintenance.

• Travel for remote service jobs where required.

Key Criteria:

• Proven experience as a marine outboard mechanic or small engine technician.

• Knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke marine engines, especially Suzuki Marine.

• Ability to read service manuals and use diagnostic tools.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.

• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel is an advantage.
