A leading financial institution in PNG is seeking a hands-on, technically strong Manager – Financial Controller to lead Group financial control and drive financial clarity across the business. This is not a typical accounting role — you will run the financial engine, interpret the numbers, and provide strategic insight. By keeping expertise in-house, you directly influence business decisions and see the real impact of your work.

Your Impact:

• Take full ownership of financial accounting, statutory and regulatory reporting, and disclosures
• Apply deep IFRS expertise (9, 15, 16, 17, 3) to complex banking and insurance scenarios
• Lead capital planning, ALCO processes, and balance sheet management, providing insight and strategic guidance
• Oversee ERP rollouts and process enhancements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Analyse financial statements, explain key movements, and challenge assumptions across the business
• Mentor a high-performing team and help develop PNG Nationals for future leadership

What You Bring:

• Accounting degree + ACA/CPA (Big 4 or banking experience highly regarded)
• 10–15 years in senior finance or financial control roles in banking or financial services
• Proven ability to run a finance function end-to-end and challenge auditors or specialists
• Hands-on with general ledger, reconciliations, and annual reporting
• Strategic thinker who links operational activity to financial and regulatory outcomes
• PNG Nationals preferred
