The Ok Tedi Development Foundation (OTDF) is the legal entity that manages community development benefits from Ok Tedi Mine operations on behalf of the people of the 158 Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) villages. OTDF is a safe, professional and innovative organisation that delivers projects to communities through a unique partnership between mining, the people and the government. OTDF is mandated to ensure wise and sustainable use of the wealth created from mining operations for the betterment of future generations of Western Province.

Procurement and Logistics Officer

OTDF is seeking a highly organised and reliable Procurement and Logistics Officer to support the efficient delivery of projects and operations.

This role is critical to ensuring that materials, supplies, and equipment are procured, managed, and delivered on time to support operations and project/program implementation across Mine villages and the CMCA regions. The position also plays a key role in maintaining strong financial controls by ensuring accurate processing of procurement documentation and coordination with the Finance team.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, OTML shipping and logistics providers to ensure smooth and compliant procurement and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, procure, and manage delivery of project materials and operational supplies with local and external suppliers.
  • Obtain quotations, evaluate suppliers, and ensure value for money and compliance with OTDF procurement policies and importantly, ensure quick turnaround on purchased goods delivery to end-
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and service providers
  • Coordinate shipping and transport of goods from suppliers to site locations
  • Arrange internal delivery of materials to project sites across the region
  • Monitor deliveries to ensure timely arrival and resolve any logistics issues
  • Maintain inventory tracking and support stock control processes
  • Process Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and ensure accurate matching with supplier invoices
  • Liaise closely with Finance and Accounts Payable to support month-end reconciliation processes
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing for audit and compliance purposes

Qualifications & Experience and Traits preferred for this role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain roles
  • Experience working in remote or project-based environments is an advantage
  • Familiarity with procurement systems, inventory management, and financial processes
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail
  • High level of integrity and accountability, especially in handling procurement processes
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in remote and logistically challenging environments
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable development practices
