World Vision Papua New Guinea (WVPNG) has exciting opportunity for those of you who want a change and want to become part of a dynamic team. We are currently looking for a suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the position of Project Coordinator attached with the Southern Highlands Anticipatory Action Project to be based in Mendi, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, project management, implementation and coordination of the project according to approved objectives, plans of actions, and budgets of the project.
MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management and Evaluation
- Effective supervision and coordination of ongoing project activities through maintaining an updated Plan of Action to ensure that activities are carried out as per the approved operational guidelines
- Maintain quality through compliance
- Timely coordination and consultation with respective portfolio or respective technical specialist to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
- Prudently manage project budget by keeping monthly expense tracker to make informed decision on project budget management and reviewing the monthly financial report to ensure correct charging
- Analyze, interpret and provide correct T6 codes, log frame, financial report variance explanations on a monthly basis
Representation & Networking
- Represent WV at donor meetings/joint agency assessments or studies and within communitie
- Develop and maintain links with NGO’s Local Level authorities
- Develop and maintain donor relationship for adequate funding needs and discussions on utilization
- Coordinate and communicate donor visits efficiently with management and effectively host donor visits
High Quality of Documentation
- Ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner meeting reporting requirement
- Manage and support project assessments and evaluations
- Present Regular progress reports at appropriate meeting’s
- Submit monthly reports
Capacity Building & Team Management
- Provide leadership to train and build field staff capacity on how to interpret project ITT, how to interpret and understand project DIP, how to read and understand project budget and charge correctly to the correct cost centres/activity line (T6 code) and how to compile field report and support with compilation of MMR,
- Train project staff on community mobilization and partners networking skills.
- Train project field staff on how to take good photos and write good field story/most significant change story.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Project Management, Agriculture and/ or any natural sciences would be excellent.
- 3-5 years’ experience in community development or in a relief setting with project management experience.
- Any experience and familiarity in living and working in Southern Highlands Province and/or any highlands provinces
- Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
- Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
- Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a high standard of English
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office,
- Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
- Strong knowledge of project management, accounting practices, and donor regulations and requirements.
- Proven ability to adapt and perform well in high-pressure and dynamic work environments and situations.
- Fluency in English is required. Professional working proficiency in Tok Pisin is preferred.
