The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Power, Infrastructure & Rural Electrification to take ownership of the beginning-to-end delivery of complex energy and infrastructure projects. This is a senior leadership position requiring a technically grounded professional with strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management capability, and the ability to successfully deliver projects in dynamic and often remote operating environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle from feasibility, concept development and design through to procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Manage feasibility studies, concept design activities, and project development initiatives
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, financial models, and risk management frameworks
- Provide CAPEX and OPEX cost inputs to support business cases and financial modelling
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations
- Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers, and vendors, including tendering, contract negotiation, performance management, and commercial oversight
- Drive project governance through reporting, progress tracking, cost control, risk management, and stakeholder communication
- Ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory, environmental, and quality standards throughout all phases of project delivery
- Manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams, government agencies, utilities, regulators, landowner groups, and local communities
- Monitor project performance, manage variations, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 10+ years' experience in project management within the power, energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure sectors
- Demonstrated experience delivering generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or rural electrification projects from concept through to commissioning
- Strong commercial capability across budgeting, financial management, cost control, procurement, and contract administration
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex contractor environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence outcomes across technical, commercial, regulatory, and community interfaces
- Experience working in remote, developing, or high-pressure environments with a high degree of resilience and adaptability
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or related discipline) or a relevant technical field
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery.
