The Ok Tedi Development Foundation (OTDF) is the legal entity that manages community development benefits from Ok Tedi Mine operations on behalf of the people of the 158 Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) villages. OTDF is a safe, professional and innovative organisation that delivers projects to communities through a unique partnership between mining, the people and the government. OTDF is mandated to ensure wise and sustainable use of the wealth created from mining operations for the betterment of future generations of Western Province.
OTDF has three (3) current vacancies and seeks to engage dynamic, competent and qualified persons to be part of the team that is delivering development outcomes for the communities of Western Province. Regional Development Coordinator – South Fly region: Suki/Nakaku (Readvertised)
OTDF is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Regional Development Coordinator to support the effective delivery of development programs at the regional level. This role is central to ensuring that projects and programs are well-coordinated, effectively implemented, and responsive to community needs. The successful candidate will act as the key link between OTDF and communities—facilitating communication, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring smooth operational delivery in often remote and challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support planning and coordination of field operations within the assigned region
- Coordinate logistics, field patrol schedules, and reporting requirements
- Support monitoring of budgets, resources, and operational performance
- Facilitate and oversee implementation of community-based projects and livelihood programs
- Support field teams and partners to deliver activities on time and to quality standards
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates on outputs and outcomes
- Assist in data collection, reporting, and evaluation of projects and programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact between OTDF and local communities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, groups, and stakeholders
- Facilitate community consultations, awareness, and participation in planned activities.
- Address community concerns and issues that may arise in the region.
Qualifications & Experience and Traits preferred for this role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Sustainable Development, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in a similar coordination or community development role
- Experience working in rural or remote community settings is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in food security and cash crop production is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in project implementation and stakeholder engagement
- Strong commitment to community development and service delivery
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities
- Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
- Ability to work independently in remote and challenging environments
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and cultural awareness
- Team-oriented with the ability to support and motivate field teams
- Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable development practices
