Purpose of the Position

The Community Health Worker will be responsible to book patients imaging. Working closely with the Radiography Technologist, she/he ensures that the operations at the x-ray department are cohesively functional. She or he will act as liaison between the project management, Treatment Supporters and people affected by TB. He or she will be also be responsible for then recording and reporting of the radiology department.

Major Roles and Responsibilities

  • Take the patient’s complete medical history
  • Ensure correctness of information on the patients records and images
  • Ensure that properly labeled X-ray films are forwarded and sent to the correct physician
  • Ensure maintenance and safekeeping of all clinic assets and supplies
  • Keep accurate records of all radiologic procedures performed

Patient Care

  • Calmly explain the procedure and answer any questions that the patient might have.
  • Direct all queries on radiologic results to the HEO/Medical Officer


  • Diploma in Community Health and registered by PNG Nursing Council
  • At least one year clinical experience
  • Some experience in community engagement
  • Training in TB prevention and care or experience in managing PWTB
  • Ability to effectively negotiate with co-workers especially with the government
  • Computer literate especially Microsoft Office
  • Sound oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven good and sound leadership skills
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Residing within Port Moresby, preferably in Moresby North East
