GENERAL MANAGER – MRO

The Engineering Division is seeking for suitably qualified and self – motivated candidates for the position of General Manager Maintenance and Repair Organization. Based at our 7mile Hanger here in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The General Manager Maintenance and Repair Organisation (GM MRO) reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for the management of all functions within the MRO Engineering Division.

The GM MRO is a full – time management position and an approved person under CASA as a ‘Fit & Proper’ person.

Key Accountabilities:

Regarding Safety:

  • Recognizing safety as a core value in all decision making in the MRO Division.
  • Giving leadership and direction to the application of corporate safety and quality integrated management system within the MRO.
  • Putting the safety management plan into effect as it applies to the activities conducted in the MRO.
  • Taking accountability for identifying causal factors behind failures, determining and implementing corrective and preventative action and controlling risk within the MRO.
  • Ensuring all staff within the MRO take personal responsibility for safety.
  • Fostering a positive safety culture in the MRO, and by personal example, demonstrating a commitment to the safety management system.
  • Participating in the Safety & Quality Review Board.
  • Ensuring all maintenance occurrences are notified to the Safety & Quality Management Group and defect incidents are investigated in the prescribed manner.

Regarding Maintenance:

  • Directing the MRO and efficient use of MRO resources.
  • Delivering maintenance in a manner that results in airworthy, reliable and clean aircraft at minimum cost.
  • Ensuring all processes, procedures and standards specified in the MOE are adhered to
  • Maintaining coordination between the MRO, Continuing Airworthiness, Technical Services, Operations and Accounting.
  • Establishing and maintaining administrative policies and procedures in regard to maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining an adequate number of qualified personnel.
  • Setting KPIs for managers
  • Ensuring corporate quality standards are maintained throughout the MRO.
  • Developing improved practices or procedures to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Ensuring the processes, practices and standards documented in this MOE continue to meet the requirements of the Civil Aviation Rules.
  • Liaising with CASA PNG as necessary regarding the provision of maintenance
  • Ensuring contractors and vendors to the MRO are approved.
  • Acting as the Control Authority for the MOE in accordance with the requirements of the PNG Air Document and Data Control Manual.

General:

  • Leading the MRO in line with current best business practice.
  • Preparing the MRO budget for approval and subsequently controlling the acquittal of the budget.
  • Meeting KPIs set by the Chief Executive Officer for the position.
  • Participating in strategic business planning.
  • Attending EXCO meetings and other forums called for by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • High Level Monthly report outlining the key points for the month, forward plans, and immediate issues at hand.
  • Manages and Responsible for stock levels for Aircraft spares, inventory levels, stock take, and AOGS.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

  • Hold or have held LAME license.
  • 10years+ technical experience.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Aircraft Engineering.
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of the maintenance parts of the company’s exposition and the applicable maintenance provisions of CA Rule Part 145 and CA Rule Part 121.
  • Demonstrated technical and people leadership in previous roles (at minimum 3 years’).
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills at all levels.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID19.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities and have an analytical mind.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
