We currently have an immediate vacancy for two Heavy Equipment Operators to join our already strong and vibrant Supply Chain team in Lae. Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator this role will need confident operator (All Rounder) with experience in Front End Loader, reach stackers, Shoe Forklifts & small forklifts to work independently in confined areas as per the company’s safety guidelines and job requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Able to manage container stacking in yard with various heavy equipment’s ( Shoe Forklift 45T, Reach Stacker, Top Spreader, Front End Loader & 305T forklifts) at multiple GFI locations.
• Skills in using correct equipment’s like ramps, fork attachments as per operational requirements.
• Understanding of instructions on job and workflow, especially in wheat vessel and container yard management
• Flexible with days and 12 hours working plan in shifts.
• Basic knowledge of machinery in terms of Prestart checks and post end checks and reporting issues in a due time to Logistics Coordinator/transport manager
• Follow any other instructions given by transport manager to carry out company’s required jobs.

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

• Minimum grade 10 with Credits & Pass or grade 12 certificate with a ‘’C’’ grades or better
• 3+ years of working experience as an operator role or similar
• Must holds a class 7 drivers’ licence
• Technical and operational abilities
• Understanding of documents used in Inbound/Outbound operation and adherence to document compliance.
• Demonstrated experience in line with technical and leadership competencies
• Experience in working with diverse culture and developing relationships quickly (essential)
