Markham Culverts Limited is a leading manufacturer specializing in high-quality culverts and drainage solutions, committed to excellence and innovation. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR & Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team and support our growing organizational needs.

Job Summary:
The HR & Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing all aspects of human resources and payroll functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess at least five (5) years of relevant experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of HR policies, payroll administration, and compliance requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure seamless HR operations and accurate payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer end-to-end payroll processing accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain employee records, including attendance, leave management, and personal information updates.
  • Support recruitment processes, including job postings, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage employee relations, addressing grievances and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, payroll summaries, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assist with performance management processes, training, and development initiatives.
  • Coordinate benefits administration, including insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and payroll regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with management and other departments to support organizational HR objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in HR and payroll administration.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software, HR information systems, and MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with relevant labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical standards.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Professional HR/Business certification is an advantage.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
