LOGISTICS OFFICER

Job Summary

The Logistics Officer supports the overall safe and efficient function of import and export supply chain movement of all Yamaha products, accounting for all assets, managing stocks and admin requirements. Managing & coordinating on-time dealership distribution and Yamaha exports effectively.

Main duties / responsibilities include:

• Ensure all Yamaha Logistics & Distribution operation procedures are followed.
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding stock updates and movements through daily reporting.
• Collaborate effectively with various departments to deliver a high level of service to customers.
• Ensure Government regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure teamwork to achieve set objectives daily.
• Conduct monthly stock counts and reporting.
• Ensure the stock warehouse is managed according to set procedures.
• Support warehouse management by operating equipment and coordinate warehouse staff.
• Supervise Yamaha shipment operations.
• Promote and maintain safety standards/practices within the workplace

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:

• Have a Grade 12 certificate, a tertiary qualification in Business or related field is desirable.
• At least two years’ experience in logistics or an associated role.
• Be able to design and implement procedures within the scope of logistics.
• Knowledge of key principles of procurement, stock control and logistics.
• High level of computing skills, particularly with MS Excel, skills with ERA system is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills.
• Be results oriented and tenacious in achieving objectives.
• Have the ability to provide effective support and solve problems.
• Demonstrated ability in dealing with individuals at various levels.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
• Must possess a current Valid Class 6 License.
