Program Manager

Rapidly Improving Standards in Elementary (RISE) program is supported by the Australian Government and aims to improve the quality of learning outcomes for 100,000 children across PNG by lifting literacy and numeracy standards, improving enrolment and completion rates for elementary aged girls and children living with disabilities and improving the capacity of key education institutions to implement policy. RISE is a consortia led by Save the Children in partnership with Callan Services National Unit and Summer Institute of Linguistics. Save the Children is looking for an ambitious, collaborative and creative education program manager with proven experience leading consortiums to achieve outcomes for children.

Where you come in:

In this 2-year position, based in Port Moresby, you will lead the management of the RISE program, reporting directly to the Deputy Country Director.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading partnership management within the consortia in line with Save the Children’s global partnership management principles;
  • Providing technical and program management support to a network of Senior Program Coordinators based in Wewak, Goroka and Buka, and empowering them to implement the RISE program in line with the program MEAL plan, implementation plan and budget;
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key government, community and donor stakeholders

This role requires:

  • Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline.
  • An ability to collaborate effectively to meet stakeholder expectations and drive a team towards achieving outcomes for children;
  • An ability to set ambitious goals and hold teams to account for delivering on these goals;
  • Proven track record managing large and complex programs;
  • Proven ability to lead a project team towards delivering ambitious results;
  • Strong financial management skills
