At Newcrest, we are not just an average mining company. We are a team of passionate individuals dedicated to exploring and mining minerals critical to the global energy transition. Our values and stakeholders' needs guide us in every decision we make.

When you join our internationally recognized Lihir operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam in Papua New Guinea, you become part of a diverse team that is committed to making a positive impact. We care about your growth, development, and success and invest in a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and innovation.

We are now recruiting for the position of Scheduler.

This role adds value to Lihir by supporting the Oxygen Plant Planning & Scheduling team in delivering the shutdown goals of safety, quality, schedule, and cost while working with all other shutdown areas to ensure an integrated approach.

Ideally, our preferred applicant holds a Technical Diploma or Trades Certificate (an Engineer Degree is desirable) and post-trade/tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Management, with 5 to 7 years of experience in fixed plant maintenance planning and scheduling in heavy industry environments. Experience in Cryogenic Air Separation Units is highly regarded. You will be an expert in the use of MS Project/Primavera and SAP.

As part of our team, you will develop all shutdown schedules in relation to maintenance activities, and major and minor capital projects within the Oxygen Facility. Also, you will actively participate in the continuous development of a long-term maintenance schedule while tracking the team's progress in pre-shuts, execution, and post-shuts.

If you are a self-motivated leader and have strong active listening and interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training, this role is for you.

What we offer:

For this opportunity, Lihir is offering a 23:19 FIFO roster from a range of designated marshalling points.

We are committed to ensuring that our team members are kept healthy and safe. To achieve this, we provide comfortable camp accommodations and balanced meals prepared by our culinary team.  Team members can expect access to TV and Wi-Fi, our on-site gym, and a variety of recreational activities.  All our team members are also rewarded with a host of great benefits, including competitive salary and continuous growth and development opportunities.
