Senior Human Resources Officer


Reporting to the HR Coordinator the HR Officer will be responsible for providing professional and timely administrative services and to support the Human Resources function, ensuring practices and policies are maintained in compliance with G4S Group HR Core standards and local regulatory requirements.

Main responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring timely delivery of recruitment and selection for key and support roles
  • Assist in coordinating Payroll admin and documentation ensuring accuracy to agreed pay schedules
  • Perform on boarding induction and orientation for new hires
  • Assist in the Vetting and Screening process for trainee hires
  • Ensure the accurate maintenance of all employee records both on and off system and databases
  • Coordinate periodic performance appraisal reviews
  • Assist in the management of the disciplinary process and cases
  • Assist in maintaining dialogue with Department of Labour on registered cases
  • Maintain effective HR administration support to ensure employees superannuation

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Diploma or degree in HR Management or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in HR operational position
  • Proficient in understanding HR Concepts, Policies and procedures, admin procedures, Employment Laws, Acts and regulations.
  • Strong skills in MS outlook, work, excel and power point and are able to learn additional programs as needed. Experience in HR Information system will be an advantage
  • Must be a member of PNG Human Resource Institute

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain utmost confidentiality, and deal appropriately with sensitive information and solve moderately complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive, professional demeanour and focus on customer service to client base
  • Possess organizational skills; ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines, while handling multiple tasks, with frequent interruptions
  • Results oriented individual available to work flexible schedules
  • Hands on with demonstrated passion for achievement, with a reliable sense of urgency and accuracy
  • Ability to assure high quality advice in all HR matters within tight timeframes, outsourcing when
    necessary after prior approval from Management
