The Opportunity:

Our client in the oil and gas sector is seeking a dynamic and experienced Societal Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Advisor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and overseeing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for programs. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical background and the ability to effectively communicate insights to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update the Risk-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework, including the creation of the M&E Plan and reporting dashboard.
  • Implement both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, ensuring data quality and analysing it to gain insights into program effectiveness and societal impact.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings; document best practices and lessons learned.
  • Provide training on M&E methodologies and promote a culture of learning and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Participate in audits, monitor compliance with internal systems and social commitments, and coordinate follow-up actions on societal issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in monitoring and evaluation.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years in M&E, data analysis, planning, or related fields with a proven track record in project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of international E&S performance standards and experience in areas such as stakeholder engagement, social investment, and community health and safety.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality M&E reports and documentation.
  • Experience in capacity building and training of staff in M&E practices.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
