Barrick (Niugini) Limited (“BNL”) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea, and operates the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province on behalf of the Porgera Joint Venture partners. BNL is an independently managed company and is jointly owned through an equal partnership between Barrick Gold Corporation and Zijin Mining Group-which own 95% participating interest in the Porgera Joint Venture. The remaining 5% is owned by Mineral Resource Enga (MRE) Limited – a consortium consisting of the Enga Provincial Government and the Porgera landowners.

Specialist – Trainer – Load Shifting (NS_908)

Responsible for training course delivery, set-up, assessment, record keeping and delivery of programs to employees / trainees on Load Shifting related principles, practices, maintenance and safety.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum grade 12 education level. (or equivalent)
  • Certificate Level 4 in Workplace Assessment and Training – BSZ40198 or TAA40104 or similar.
  • Hold appropriate OH&S Mobile Crane, Bridge/Gantry Crane, Forklift, EWP, Riggers & Dogger license’s / qualification.
  • Have experience in training systems and have a good working knowledge of OH&S licenses and requirements.
  • Will have at least 5 years specific industry experience (Mining or Construction) and a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Load Shifting Trainer.
  • Be able to deliver training and assessment in a practical and engaging way.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Be proactive in improving training materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and conduct assessment for PJV Load Shifting Training programs.
  • Maintain accurate training records for all Load Shifting Training programs.
  • Maintain accurate license issuing records for all Load Shifting Training programs.
  • Report on all training programs being developed, presented or assessed as requested.
  • Produce training reports on all trainees being trained and assessed.
  • Propose improvements to Maintenance Training Superintendent on existing Load shifting training and assessment resources.
  • Execute specific tasks as directed by the Maintenance Training Superintendent.
  • Ability to set priorities and take action in a reasonable time frame.
  • Promote high standard with environmental practices.
  • Ensure that the Load shifting training courses are executed as programmed.
  • Ensure effective handovers are conducted
  • Maintain high level of health and safety awareness and comply with PJV Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health rules and procedures
