PURPOSE: To assist CLDO to enable the organisation to meet its goals through staff training & development by coordinating training events, planning, designing & delivering trainings.
RESPONSIBLE TO:Chief Learning and Development Officer
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Advocate of the PNG Lukautim Pikinini Act within SIL-PNG citizen community in promoting Child safeguarding
Ensure SIL-PNG work environment is free of workplace harassment and bullying by way of conducting training and awareness sessions for Staff Safeguarding on a scheduled basis.
In training events work with others in the organization to promote safeguarding, diversity and inclusion helping to ensure compliance with SIL policy
Oversight of Child safeguarding trainers
Oversight of organizational orientation of citizen staff
Assist Staff Care with organizational orientation for non-citizen as needed
Work in consultation with HR in providing organization mandated training
Maintain confidentiality with all conversation, interactions, dialogues and relationships with staff unless there is threat of harm to the person or to someone else. Do not guarantee confidentiality where a criminal act is concerned and this requirement must be explained prior to commencing any sessions or meetings with concerned person / parties
Attend meetings as needed
Any other duties as allocated by the Supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Tertiary qualification in human resources management, business or administration.
Skills – taken and practices LtL or equivalent (ex. Cert IV Training and Assessment).
Driver license would be advantageous
3 to 5 years work experience in the area of developing, delivering and assessing training.
A good understanding of business practices, the employee/employer relationship and of PNG Labour Laws in the area of training.
Experience in relating professionally to other organizations, government offices.
Competency in the use of Microsoft office suites applications.
Fluency in English and Tok Pisin
Ability to Co-train or be a part of a training team; which means when two trainers work together to plan, organize, instruct and make assessments on the same group of participants, sharing the same training room
Must be mature, friendly, reliable and honest.
Able to maintain and keep confidentiality and is respected for people training.
Comfortable with people, able to create a safe adult learning environment for the different cultures.
Have good communication, interpersonal and listening skills one-to-one and groups.
Appropriately assertive and confident with the ability to take initiative and can work independently.
Have a desire to serve people and help them achieve their potential.
Proven and verifiable Christian walk.
Must be willing to make a commitment to SIL goals and principles with a servant heart attitude
