Aircraft Detailing & Cleaning Supervisor

We are pleased to announce an open vacancy now exists in our Engineering Department for a qualified and experienced Aircraft Detailing & Cleaning Supervisor.

Based in Port Moresby this position will report to the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor. The Aircraft Detailer and Cleaner Supervisor (ADCS) will supervise the aircraft cleaning processes in order to provide a clean aircraft to our airline customers and the activities of the Aircraft Detailers and Cleaners involved in cleaning all assigned aircraft thoroughly and efficiently,

The ADCS will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Effectively works with the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to efficiently execute the aircraft Detailing/Cleaning work scope.
  • Communicates effectively with MRO Management, Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor and staff Detailers/Cleaners as required.
  • Promotes an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed.
  • Oversees and supervises aircraft cleaning Detailer/Cleaners to perform the tasks required by the work scope and performs to plan.
  • Will be responsible for performance reviews, address staff performance deficiency, and lead efforts to remedy staff performance solutions.
  • Works on the daily activities to ensure maximum efficiency and take necessary action to ensure that all work is completed within schedule and estimated labor and material costs.
  • Ensures understanding of the assigned tasks and ensures the use of applicable technical data.
  • Assists the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor in identifying additional technical training needs.
  • Ensures that aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with methods of execution outlined in Maintenance & Repair Organization Exposition.
  • Able to schedule staff and provide a comprehensive shift turnover to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Delivers on aircraft downtime and schedule to ensure timely delivery of a quality product.
  • Ensures that crews maintain good housekeeping practices, takes immediate action to maintain a clean safe environment.
  • Works closely with MRO Managers and Supervisors to deliver on adequate safety precautions and procedures, inspect equipment to ensure it meets company safety and Health Safety & Environment standards.
  • Delivers continuous safety programs in their area of responsibility, including operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, housekeeping, and hazardous materials.
  • Supports the PNG Air Vision, Mission, and Values statement through the achievement of department goals and objectives that contribute to process improvement and the development of strategies that improve customer service and the maintenance process.

To be considered, you must have the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of corporate aircraft detailing and cleaning as well as staff supervision experience required.
  • A Year 12 pass
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workflow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Known for working well with all levels of managers, staff and vendors.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to take initiative and execute assigned tasks in a timely and flawless manner.
  • Strong teamwork acumen with a profound ability to work under extreme pressure.
  • Strong passion for working in a fast-paced and result-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Team-oriented dedication to great customer service and the ability to inspire that commitment in others.
  • Thorough knowledge of the general aviation cleaning industry, aircraft makes and models, and ground support suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of safety training and risk management.
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks.
