The Role

As the Corporate Affairs Manager, your overarching role is to spearhead advocacy and engagement with governmental bodies, develop robust policy positions, and oversee impactful projects crucial to the company's growth and sustainability. You will manage stakeholder relationships, navigate regulatory landscapes, and coordinate corporate events to uphold their reputation as a leader in the industry.


Key Responsibilities:

Government Advocacy and Engagement:
  • Manage a comprehensive government engagement program to align with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Assist in the development and management of Government Relations strategies.
  • Provide strategic counsel on the implications of company activities within governmental and policy frameworks.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership for direct engagement with government officials and industry stakeholders to advocate the company's position.
Public Policy, Projects, and Grants:
  • Develop and advocate for public policy positions conducive to the company's economic sustainability.
  • Review government policies and propose strategies to support favourable outcomes.
  • Identify and pursue relevant government grant opportunities, aiding in the application process.
Stakeholder Engagement Activities and Relationships:
  • Engage with diverse stakeholder groups and implement engagement strategies.
  • Manage sponsorship requests and ensure constructive relationships with industry stakeholders including National Department of Agriculture & Livestock, National Agriculture Research Institute, and more.
Issues & Reputation Management:
  • Develop messaging strategies and position statements on public policy matters.
  • Respond to external inquiries concerning the company's activities or the industry, maintaining transparency and credibility.
Event Management:
  • Oversee the arrangement of corporate events, including industry conferences, government seminars, and engagement dinners.
About you:
  • Tertiary education in Communications, Public Policy, or Law preferred.
  • Work Experience: 5+ years in government relations and/or corporate affairs.
  • Proficiency in project management, public policy, superior communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and basic budget management.
