We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to handle the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment at our facility in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading cargo, moving materials within the warehouse or storage area, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
2. Load and unload cargo from trucks, containers, and storage areas.
3. Transport materials within the warehouse or storage facility as per instructions.
4. Stack and organize goods in designated storage areas, ensuring proper placement and accessibility.
5. Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any defects or issues to the supervisor.
6. Adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
7. Assist with inventory management by accurately recording incoming and outgoing shipments and maintaining inventory records.
8. Collaborate with warehouse staff and other team members to prioritize tasks and optimize workflow.
9. Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure smooth operations.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping aisles and storage areas free of debris and obstructions.

Essential Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a forklift operator or similar role, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
2. Valid forklift operator certification/license issued by a recognized authority.
3. Strong understanding of forklift operation and safety procedures.
4. Ability to operate different types of forklifts, including counterbalance and reach trucks.
5. Good physical condition with the ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as stacking and organizing cargo.
7. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness to maneuver forklifts in tight spaces.
8. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
9. Effective communication skills
