The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the business. As the GM, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in scaling the company from startup to an independent business, ensuring sustained profitability, and delivering value to the People of Western Province. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader with a passion for agribusiness and a track record in driving growth.
Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Leadership: Provide overall strategic direction and vision for the company, aligning it with organizational goals.
- Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, optimizing processes and systems for efficiency.
- Business Development: Identify new export market opportunities, build relationships with stakeholders, and expand the customer base.
- Financial Management: Ensure sound financial management, monitor performance, and implement measures for profitability.
Key Requirements: - Bachelor's or master's degree in agriculture, agribusiness, business administration or related fields
- 10+ years' experience in a similar role in the Asia Pacific region
- Strong agricultural knowledge including farming practices, crop management, and supply chain dynamics
- Business acumen, and excellent communication skills
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in precision agriculture, sustainable farming, and agri-business.
- Experience in developing and executing business plans, managing budgets, and analyzing financial reports
