Summary

The IT Technician should possess excellent technical skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to ethical standards. An IT Technician will provide technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth functioning of IT systems. Maintaining sober habits, consistently attending work, and upholding ethical principles are critical requirements for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt technical assistance and support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Install, configure, and upgrade software applications, operating systems, and drivers.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patches, and backups.Coordinate equipment repairs, warranty claims, and service agreements with vendors.
  • Ensure proper functioning and connectivity of network devices (routers, switches, access points).
  • Assist in setting up, configuring, and maintaining servers, workstations, and other IT infrastructure components.
  • Monitor system performance and network connectivity, proactively addressing any issues.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard systems and data.
  • Conduct user training sessions and create technical documentation to promote efficient system usage.
  • Educate users on data security best practices and ethical use of IT resources.
  • Uphold professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all job-related activities.
  • Adhere to company policies and industry standards, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in IT, Instrument, Electronics and Communication, or related programs. At least 2 years of working experience as an IT Technician or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts effectively to non-technical users.
  • Sober habits, consistent attendance, and commitment to professional conduct.
  • Ethical mindset with a dedication to upholding confidentiality and data security.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable working at height and observing safety policies and rules. Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support or training purposes.
  • Ability to adapt to various work environments, including office and field settings.

Working Environment

  • Both indoors and outdoors, including underground for cabling installations.

Travel Requirement

  • Travel between office and job sites or from one job site to another.
