Manager Financial Planning & Analysis

We are pleased to announce an open vacancy now exists in our Finance Department for a qualified and experienced Manager Financial Planning & Analysis.

Based in Port Moresby this position will report to the Chief Financial Officer. Overall purpose of a Manager Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is to ensure the financial health and stability of a company through planning, analysis, and forecasting. This role involves synthesizing financial data, identifying key trends, and providing insights to support decision-making at both strategic and operational levels within the organization.

The MFP & A will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process and Forecasting process;
• Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities;
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance and operational efficiency;
• Support CFO in the development of long-term strategic plans and initiatives;
• Prepare regular management reports, financial statements, and dashboards;
• Develop and maintain financial models to simulate various business scenarios and outcomes;
• Monitor financial performance against budget, forecast, and strategic targets;
• Collaborate with departments across the organization to gather financial data and insights;
• Participate and close off month end activity;
• During internal or external audits, provide support by furnishing documentation, statutory reports, answering inquiries, and assisting auditors in verifying the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

To be considered, you must have the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required. May also accept degrees in Business Administration or Economics with a focus on Accounting.
• Professional Certification: Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA). Other certification maybe considered such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
• Accounting Knowledge: A understanding of Accounting principles, concepts, and practices is essential.
• Financial Analysis: Proficiency in Financial Analysis techniques, including ratio analysis, trend analysis, and variance analysis, is important for assessing financial performance and making informed decisions.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software systems, as well as spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, is often required.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for conveying financial information clearly to stakeholders and collaborating with colleagues.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and solving complex financial problems.
• Must have 2 – 3 years of experience;
• Similar experience such as accountant or financial analyst may be considered.
