Key Responsibilities:

Household Solar Light Distribution and Installation

  • The Project Coordinator will coordinate the transportation of items from Buka/Arawa warehouse directly to the village based on the number of kits to be installed that day.
  • The Project Coordinator will maintain close coordination with staff, security, and logistic service providers for efficient transportation of the items.
  • Ensure casual labour or community support if and when required to carry items from the vehicles to the installation points particularly where road access is not conducive to road travel.
  • The Project Coordinator to develop a checklist to ensure that all the necessary installation tools are accounted for before the tools are stored in the WVPNG office. As the mainland installations will be carried out with the assistance of the BTS student team, the installation will take place village by village.
  • The Project Coordinator will follow the plan and collaborate with the Community Government Structure to involve local villagers in conducting the installations.
  • The Project Coordinator will continue to provide supervision and briefings on a weekly basis. In addition to on-the-spot monitoring and corrective guidance, performance/ feedback will be recorded for a later report to BTC. Regular communication and quarterly meetings with BTC will be held
  • WVPNG through the Project Coordinator will coordinate with BTC for student engagement

Networking and Collaboration

  • Support engagement with key stakeholders for successful implementation, influence, learning, and resource sharing.
  • Represent WVPNG in key inter-agency meetings and engagement.
  • Engage and build relationships with key partners and government counterparts
  • Engage with donor agencies and other stakeholders, from time to time, as required.

Documentation, Reporting, and knowledge management.

  • Lead the project team to write and submit comprehensive reporting, and specific activity reports, when necessary, in a timely manner.
  • Support routine Reporting –narrative and financial reporting, including realization of activities versus budget utilization;
  • Take the lead in documentation and sharing of Impact/success stories and best practices to promote learning.
  • Organize partner meetings for partners to share progress, as well as create spaces and opportunities for action-learning

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • A diploma in development studies, sociology, or other relevant field is a requirement (Bachelor’s degree is an advantage).
  • Previous cumulative experience in community work, Economic Development, and Livelihood is an added
    advantage.
  • Three years’ experience in field-based program management and coordination roles would be preferable and experience working with vulnerable communities and familiarity with humanitarian programming and implementation.
  • Experience in Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • Capacity/potential in leadership, relationship management/networking, and coordination.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven conceptual & analytical skills, ability to take an evidence-based approach to program design and facilitation skills

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based 30%: field 70%
  • Travel: Regular travel to the project communities.
