Steamships Limited is in search of a proven, capable and results-driven individual to lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigations. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Project Manager located in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. As a Project Manager, your primary responsibilities are to coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments.

Required Experience

Significant experience in project management including amongst other things:

  • Establish and maintain process to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects.
  • Development, maintain and track project programs including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) down and resourcing down to level of effort.
  • Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs.
  • Experiences coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members capabilities and skill sets.

Qualifications and Key Ccompetencies

  • Relevant qualifications in design, engineering or legal
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proven success working with all levels of management.
