The Opportunity:

Operating out of their Port Moresby office, our client seeks to recruit a Security Coordinator. The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Security Advisor in addressing all matters relating to the Security function, risk assessments, liaising with key stakeholders and maintaining security infrastructure to ensure top security for personnel and assets.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing support, recommendations and assist the Security Advisor with Port Moresby based operations and outlying operations as directed and ensuring all security activities and risk management are in line with organisational protocols and policies.

Key responsibilities:
  • Data management with weekly reporting
  • Provide full security coverage for staff and contractors
  • Maintain office security, operational activities, service stations and expatriate residential locations
  • Liaise with key stake holders include Government security forces as required
  • Management of security systems and procedures
  • Maintain security duties for client fleet and provide support and coverage for Fleet Coordinator in their absence
  • Deliver security briefings, inductions and training as required
  • Be able to work long hours including weekends when needed.
Key requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in security and risk management
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in security, law enforcement or military operations
  • Preferred security experience in the oil & gas or mining industries
  • Minimum 5 years’ supervision experience in security operations
  • MS Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Possess strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Maintain records, collect data and prepare reports and correspondence related to the security risks, crimes and incidents
