Our Lihir operation in Processing Department is now recruiting for the position of Supervisor – Processing for FIFO role based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO).

Reporting to the Superintendent Processing, this position will supervise the Autoclave or Leach Circuit in the Processing Area and the technicians in their area of responsibility. To provide Leadership to achieve production targets and ensure compliance to all safe work procedures.

The role will have responsibility to:

  • Ensure personnel and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for Work and hold people accountable for adherence.
  • Ensure all operators on shift carry out isolations and issue safe work permits for maintenance work in accordance with the site Permits to Work system.
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise and report on the “day to day” activities of the Process Services personnel.
  • Undertake regular inspections of all plant equipment in the areas of responsibility and the reporting of hazards or breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement process by assisting with and implementing maintenance strategy and system improvement initiatives.
  • Supports Work Management performance indicator (KPI) tracking and trending.
  • Maintains planning compliance in an environment of conflicting maintenance and operational requirements.
  • An ability to follow established procedures and to have the self-discipline to complete work on time with minimal supervision.
  • Foster the development of all section employees to improve their performance, safety and environmental awareness.

Essential Criteria

Ideally, our preferred applicant will have:

  • Certificate 4 in Resource Processing (preferable) or relevant industry experience essential.
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a Leading Hand or Supervisor in a mineral’s processing plant
  • Previous experience in delivery and assessment of training desirable.
  • Computer proficiency in SAP and MS Office suite.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Assist in minimizing costs and improving plant performance thus increasing production at a minimum cost.
  • Continuously seeks to find ways to improve work performance.
  • PNG Drivers Licence – currently holds a Class 1 or ability to obtain essential.

The Requirements

  • Must be available for FIFO to Lihir
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
