Systems Analyst

The Systems Analyst is responsible for providing highly effective and efficient University Management Information System especially for the University main Website and Web-based applications that meet the specified requirements and satisfy the end user also with a view to review and analyze existing systems and recommend improvements or changes. The successful candidate will directly report to the ICTS Director and will perform the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the university website, ensuring functionality, usability, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, administrative units, and other stakeholders to identify website requirements and provide solutions.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of a broad range of management information systems software, including coverage of financial accounting systems, student records systems and other administrative applications software appropriate to a tertiary education institution.
  • Oversee the content strategy for the university website, working with departmental content contributors to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of information.
  • Train and support departmental staff in using content management systems and best practices for web content creation and management.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to departmental web administrators and users, addressing issues related to website functionality, performance, and usability.
  • Stay informed about emerging web technologies and trends, recommending updates and enhancements to improve the overall user experience.
  • Provide Systems Analysis and Design about detailed development and maintenance of computer systems in collaboration with all levels of administrative management and staff.
  • Perform programming for application development and maintenance for efficiency.
  • Provide advice, specialists in systems development and consultancy for Information Technology Services clients.
  • Attend to Non-school Leaver Applications & Online Education Applications
  • Work closely with the Public Relations Office to develop and implement branding strategies consistent with the university's mission and values.
  • Ensure adherence to branding guidelines across all digital platforms, including the website, social media channels, and digital publications.
  • Work closely with the Public Relations Office to develop and implement branding strategies consistent with the university's mission and values.
  • Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of a broad range of utility and personal productivity software supporting clerical and office-based activities, including operating systems, utility software, data communications and network management software suitable for the support of extensive, integrated computing network facilities serving the wide spectrum of user requirements typical in the tertiary education sector.
  • Recommend or provide guidance on the selection of appropriate software and equipment for academic needs.
  • Provide in-house software systems training for staff.
  • Perform programming for application development and maintenance for efficiency.

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant field from recognized universities
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Skilled knowledge in ICT
  • Leadership experience
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick learner
  • Good interpersonal skills

Condition of Service:

Systems Analyst – K46,556.00 – K64, 958 per annum

Domestic Market Allowance – K6,677.00 – K12,687.00 per annum

(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
