Team Leader – Accounts Receivable

We are pleased to announce an open vacancy now exists in our Finance Department for a qualified and experienced Team Leader – Accounts Receivable.

Based in Port Moresby this position will report to the Credit Controller. The AR Team Leader will support the Credit Controller and Financial Controller to ensure that debt collections within Finance Operations are organised efficiently in terms of the company’s monthly revenue procedures.

The AR Team Leader will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

• AR Team Leader should be a close liaison with the Credit Controller that credit issues are resolved smoothly and assist on the other work related issues
• Manage the AR team
• Support and coach other team members
• Check customer’s credit situation for all clients against the age debtor’s report
• Provide analysis of aged debtor
• Liaise with internal and external parties
• Handle disputed bills within certain time frame for invoices to be paid on time
• Ensure daily payments are confirmed against respective bank statements and receipted into respective customer accounts
• Ensure monthly processing of deadlines are met as required
• Ensure monthly client statements and invoices are sent out as per agreed terms
• AR Team Leader oversees the Credit Control team during the absence of the Credit Controller
• Refer or report any customer stop payment or late payment within certain time frame to the Credit Controller to liaise with the Commercial for further action

To be considered, you must have the relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years experiences in an Accounting, or AR role preferably in the Airline Industry or similar
• Detailed working knowledge of Accounting Principles, practices and accounting software applications
• Strong level in MS Suites especially Excel and Word.
• Strong Attention to detail
• Good organization and planning skills
• Problem analysis and problem solving skills
• Able to manage own workload, set and meet deadlines and operate independently with minimum level of supervision.
• Hardworking, trustworthy and result focused
• Knowledge of workplace Safety and udnerstanding
