ACCOUNTS PAYABLE - PORT MORESBY

Accounts Payable (AP) manages a company's short-term financial obligations, ensuring vendor invoices are accurately verified, coded, and paid on time. Key duties include processing invoices, reconciling statements, managing expense reports, and maintaining vendor relationships. This role requires high attention to detail and proficiency in accounting software.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

Invoice Processing: Receiving, approving, and coding invoices for payment, ensuring they match purchase orders and contracts.
Payment Execution: Scheduling and preparing weekly or monthly payment batches (checks, ACH, wire transfers) to vendors and suppliers.
Reconciliation: Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to vendor statements.
Vendor Management: Acting as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining updated vendor records.
Expense Reporting: Reviewing employee credit card statements and expense reports for policy compliance.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and organized historical records for auditing purposes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Attache) and Excel.
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and numerical analysis to prevent payment errors.
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to interact with vendors and internal departments.
Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and meet strict deadlines.
Education: Studied accounting or finance preferred.
