ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SUPERVISOR

We are pleased to announce an open vacancy now exists in our Finance Department for a qualified and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor.

Based in Port Moresby this position will report to Accounts Payable Manager. This role will coordinate, lead and supervise the effective management of all company’s creditor’s accounts and related duties in accordance with the company’s operational and business requirements, providing the required support to the Accounts Payable Manager, to meet all line departments/divisions operational and administrative needs.

The AP Supervisor will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate with relevant departments/divisions to ensure a smooth transition/flow of documents between them and the finance/accounts payable section
  • Ensure correct procedures (SOP) are followed before any request for payment is done
  • Task to complete monthly reports within the set dead line as required
  • Checking and posting of creditors data entry batches and payment
  • Review of creditor’s reconciliations, statement of account versus the creditors’ age payable listing
  • Liaising with other department/division regarding queries
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports as required by the Accounts Payable Manager and or the Manager-Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Provide training to junior level staff
  • Other duties as assigned as requested by Finance Management team

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualified with an appropriate Accounting back ground.
  • Experience in Accounts Payable functions and processes.
  • Display a sound understanding of Accounts Payables objectives and plans including operating systems used in the aviation industry.
  • The ability to proactively provide supervision employing systems and processes and procedures and to operate effectively meeting the Accounts Payables requirements.
  • Ability to provide guidance to the junior level staff within Accounts Payable.
  • Be hard working, trustworthy and results oriented/focused.
  • Proficient in MS Software (MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Knowledgeable in Accpac Software (desirable but not required)
  • 3 years experiences supervising an AP team.
