AIRPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER - TOKUA
We are pleased to announce an open vacancy exists in our Operations Division for a qualified and experienced Airport Operations Manager.
Based in Tokua, East New Britain, this position will report to the General Manager Operations and will be responsible to effectively manage the daily operations of Tokua Airport. This role ensures to maintain key working relationships with operations control, traffic both domestic and international, corporate charters and cargo among others, as deemed necessary to support the in-flight catering operational needs of the Airlines PNG Operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Precise record keeping and reporting.
- Well-handled flight delays or ensure minimal to no flight delays
- Consistency in on time performances
- Precise and accurate airport’s operation reporting
- Meeting tasks deadline
- Compliance to Airline Safety Standards
- Complete regular checks to ensure incoming cargo is being checked to pink copies of incoming cargo manifests and addressing any anomalies;
- Ensuring all incoming baggage have their bag tags removed and then later destroyed;
- Ensure delays are handled within accordance of the delay handling procedures;
- Ensure cost effective handling of disruptions and manage / monitor the issuance, reconciliation and processing of all purchase orders and associated invoices as directed;
- Responsible for monitoring compliance to time and attendance requirements and reporting;
- Ensuring Accountable Document Returns are prepared daily and proceeds from sales banked;
- Maintaining the Accountable Documents Register and is regularly checked;
- Reporting any equipment failures immediately to the Manager Airports;
- Provide a pro-active approach to the reduction of injury to staff members and/ or damage to aeroplane or equipment;
- Ensures standard operating procedures are implemented as per corporate and local standards;
- Report all incidents;
- Ensure & manage daily schedules and reports are prepared and distributed on time for stakeholders and management to review.
- Check & monitor operations daily movements update the transport schedule and update drivers instantly when changes are made.
- Ensure that all operating fleets depart base on time and proceed to Crew and Ground staff pickup locations on time.
- Ensure communication for pickup will have delays to operations control and update operations when pickups are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage AM/PM hand over/take over with drivers and echo men at the agreed times set by management and communicate issues to the duty manager.
- Collect mileages and update your daily reports and submit them before end of the shift.
- Monitor the two-way radio, email, mobile phone and landline and respond in a timely and professional manner.
- Carrying out other duties & tasks as requested by your Head of Department.
Qualification/Experiences
- Must have completed Diploma or Degree level
- Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in aviation or hospitality and tourism industry.
- Must have a current class 1 PNG Driver’s License or similar (Optional).
- Must be able to understand and communicate with people.
- Must have sound computer skills/knowledge.
- Good attention to detail
- Must be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Logistics knowledge of sequential routes and strong coordination skills
