Position Title: AutoCAD Draftsman

Location: Port Moresby

Division: WR Carpenter Properties

Overview

The AutoCAD Operator will be responsible for the preparation of design and as-built drawings as required during the construction, survey, designing, tendering of projects and liaising with the relevant Government departments required.

Key Responsibilities

- Create precise technical drawings using CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.

- Convert hand sketches and verbal instructions into accurate CAD drawings.

- Prepare layouts, detailed drawings, and assembly diagrams for construction or manufacturing.

- Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes or modifications requested by the engineering
team.

- Ensure all designs are documented and meet the required standards and codes.

- Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.

- Assist in preparing documentation and reports related to project designs and materials.

- Prepare bills of materials and cost estimates based on drawings.

- Conduct site visits as needed to gather information and ensure design accuracy.

- Assist with the development of design standards and procedures.

- Coordinate with project managers and team to ensure timely completion of drafts.

- Stay updated with the latest advancements in CAD technology and design trends.

Requirements

- PNG citizen with College Engineering /Architecture undergraduate or graduate.
- Must be aged 30+ years old.
- Possess 2+ years of 2D & 3D drawing drafting works experience.
- Demonstrate experience in dealing and liaising with government departments such as NCDC,
Physical planning, Water PNG, PNG Power, Fire department.
- Possess sound knowledge on PNG construction safety and NCDC standard structural codes.
- Ability to use MS office, AutoCAD and other relevant drawing software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required for coordinating with relevant third parties.
