AVIATION STORES SUPERVISOR

PNG Air’s MRO Department is recruiting for an Aviation Stores Supervisor based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. This position reports to Manager Technical Materials for the supervision of outward goods from the stores, for recognizing safety as a core value in all decision making in his area of responsibility, fostering a positive safety culture within his area of responsibility and by leading example, demonstrating a commitment to the company culture.

Key Responsibilities include the following

• Attend & conduct staff meetings as required
• The overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the stores section including the cost, implementingeffective purchasing & logistics method for required parts & ensuring security of physical & electronic orders / document
• Assisting with & sourcing, purchasing of aircraft parts and consumable materials as requested by engineers and workshop site managers in a timely & accuratemanner
• Assist when necessary in the preparing of preload paperwork for aircraft (A) checks etc.
• Assist in raising of repair & warranty orders for unserviceable components to appropriate repair facilities in a timely manner
• Liaise with repair vendors in relation to outstanding orders to ensure the timely return of repaired components
• Ensure all orders are filed correctly (physically & electronically) in a timely manner
• Prepare pre-payment documentation (& the follow-up of) for those items requiring payment before delivery, liaising with the Finance Department
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager Supply or the Manager Logistics & Supply/Stores
• Responsible for all facets inventory management including supply chain, receipts issuance and quarantine
• Responsible for the traceability and management of core returns and receipts
• Responsible for maintaining inventory value through best practice principles in optimization of component consumables and expandable management
• Minimize inventory shrinkage
• Interface with; Rotable Planning, Senior Planners and PPC in order to align procurement requirements to maintenance forecast regimes
• Minimize repayment terms for rotable components
• Build Vendor relationships that allow expansion of approved credit accounts

Qualifications,Skills and Competencies

• Tertiary Qualified with Business Management or Logistics and Purchasingor similar qualification
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience preferably in airlines industry or similar environment
• Detailed working knowledge of logistics and supplychain practices and Microsoft office software applications
• Work place health and safety understanding
