We currently have vacancies for Blow Mould Operators to join our already strong and vibrant Oil Bottling Plant (Production) Team in Lae. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful incumbent will set up the blow moulding machine, observe its operation, ensuring the blown bottles meet specifications and execute changeovers and troubleshoot problems for repairs and maintenance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Be on time for shift pre-start checks and ensure machine is in safe and correct operating mode.
• Align production plan and execute changeover within specified time frame.
• Report all machine abnormal functions
• Perform Cleaning, lubrication & basic Maintenance tasks/assist maintenance team where required
• Record and report all required machine data
• Punctual at work with minimum absenteeism
• Minimise double work & waste of resources
• Flexibility to support and relieve work in any other sections as planned by the supervisors.
• Ensure to keep machine and work area clean
• Takes break as per the standard time – no extended breaks
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Comply to safe work practices
• Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor

To be considered for the role, you will need to have/ be:

• High Literacy and Numeracy skill level
• Knowledge of blowing process parameters
• Understand the heating and blowing relationship
• Ability to reprocess parameters
• Ability to troubleshoot failures
• Ability to analyze data to make decisions
• Minimum grade 12 education or TVET qualification in Mechanical or Electrical
• Over 3 years of experience with blow moulding operation
• Working knowledge and experience with high-pressure compressors.
• Actively comply with Safety WALK’s and TALK’s according to the schedule.
• Wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment required in designated areas (100% compliance).
• Comply with all safety, quality and Goodman Fielder policies and practices.
