BUTCHERY SUPERVISORS

Chemcare Group Limited is seeking motivated Butchery Supervisors to join our teams in Lae, Madang and Kokopo. Reporting to the Branch Managers and Group Butchery Manager, you will supervise the daily operations of the Butchery Department, ensuring high standards of product quality, food safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Supervise staff preparing butchery products for tray packs in accordance with health and food safety regulations.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of meat, poultry, fish and smallgoods for retail display.
• Ensure chillers, freezers, display cabinets, benches and butchery equipment are cleaned and sanitised to company standards.
• Ensure staff are properly trained in the safe operation of bandsaws and other butchery equipment.
• Promote compliance with workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure all staff are correctly dressed in the required protective clothing and have the appropriate tools and equipment to perform their duties.
• Maintain a productive, efficient and well-organised work environment.
• Assist the Group Butchery Manager with the day-to-day supervision of the department.
• Perform any other duties as directed by the Group Butchery Manager.

Skills / Qualification / Experience:

• Meat Processing Certification and or/relevant tertiary qualification.
• Previous experience in a butchery or meat processing environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
• 5 years’ Experience in meat cutting and displaying
• Experience in basic smallgoods making (Saveloy, luncheon, fresh sausages)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional personal presentation with customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to effectively lead a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
