Chef / Cook – Port Moresby

PNG Industry Manpower Solutions (PIMS) is seeking to employ an experienced Chef / Cook to join one of our key Port Moresby based clients. We are looking for a skilled and dependable Cook to prepare meals that meet nutritional and safety standards. This role is suitable for someone with hands-on kitchen experience and an understanding of food hygiene, nutrition, and efficient cooking practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes or dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Monitor and manage kitchen stock and supplies.
• Follow food safety protocols and storage guidelines.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.

• Comply with health and safety regulations at all times.

Experience / Qualifications:

• Certificate or Diploma in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts, or Hospitality from a recognized institution in PNG or overseas.

• National Certificate Level 2 or 3 in Cookery (TVET-accredited) – highly regarded.
• At least 3 – 5 years of experience working in a kitchen or food service role.

• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, occupational health, and safety standards (e.g, HACCP principles).
• Ability to manage time and multitask in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
