About the Opportunity: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented
Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the day-to-day operations of our client's diverse business units in Lae, Papua New Guinea. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the COO will play a critical role in implementing strategic plans, driving business growth, and ensuring operational excellence across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborating with the Managing Director to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Operational Management: Overseeing all day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources, processes, and systems.
  • Business Development: Identifying opportunities for growth and working with the Managing Director to implement strategies to achieve growth objectives.
  • Risk Management: Developing and implementing strategies to mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Leading and managing a team of senior executives, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure high performance.
  • Financial Management: Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors and partners.
Key Requirements:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field, particularly relevant to Port and Logistics, is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a similar industry, is essential.
  • Skills: Demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills are critical.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Papua New Guinea's business environment and regulatory requirements is necessary.
