Summary

The cleaner will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within our facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors alike. With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to efficiency, the cleaner will execute cleaning tasks diligently and follow established protocols to uphold our organization's cleanliness standards. By providing thorough and consistent cleaning services, the cleaner will contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of all individuals who interact with our facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors, using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces such as desks, countertops, tables, and shelves.
  • Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstery, and sweep and mop floors as needed.
  • Empty trash containers and replace liners, disposing of waste in a sanitary manner.
  • Clean and polish glass surfaces, mirrors, and windows to ensure a streak-free finish.
  • Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels in restrooms and common areas.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Adhere to established cleaning schedules and routines, completing tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Job Requirements

  • Grade 10, 12 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15kg.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings, if required.
