The opportunity

Our client is a leading infrastructure and renewable energy development organisation committed to delivering sustainable energy solutions across Papua New Guinea. As part of their growth in PNG, our client is searching for a results driven Commercial Manager to lead this project into its full commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company growth objectives
• Lead financial modelling, forecasting, and investment analysis (NPV, IRR, sensitivity analysis)
• Assist development team with variations, claims, and disputes resolution.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
• Advise and support insurance requirements, securities, guarantees, and hedging strategies
• Interface with investors, joint venture partners, and financial institution
• Mange refinancing and portfolio optimisation initiatives
• Manage Requests for Proposal (REPs), tender evaluations, and procurement processes
• Monitor project budgets, cash flow, profitability, and commercial performance

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, Law or related discipline
• 7-15+ years’ experience in commercial management within development, infrastructure or the energy sector
• Strong understanding of project finance, energy markets and contract law principles
• Highly analytical, excellent organizational and planning skills
• Experienced in handling multiple projects and an ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
• A proactive, result-oriented approach with strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Advance financial modelling skills
